Nothing improves curb appeal per dollar like fresh mulch. A spring mulch install resets the color of every bed on the property, sharpens the line between turf and planting, and instantly makes the whole landscape look maintained — which is why it's the single most requested service we run each March through May.

Mulch is working, not just decorating. A two- to three-inch layer holds soil moisture through Kansas summers so plants need less supplemental water, moderates soil temperature against freeze-thaw swings that heave shallow roots, and blocks the light weed seeds need to germinate. We install at the correct depth and keep it pulled back off trunks and stems, because mulch piled against bark traps moisture and rots the plant it's supposed to protect.

Before anything goes down, we re-cut the bed edge. A clean spade-cut edge is what makes a mulch job look professional instead of dumped — it holds the mulch in place, keeps bermuda and fescue from creeping into the beds, and gives the mower a defined line to follow all season. Existing weeds are removed first, and we can install fabric or apply a pre-emergent in the beds where it makes sense.

We install shredded hardwood, dyed brown or black mulch, cedar, and decorative rock including river rock and granite.
